Friends Finding Homes

Please remove Sam from your web page. He is like a new dog after working with Nancy Sciotti !!! His behavior has improved at least 85% and we continue to reach that 100 % marker. Thank you so very much !!!!

Sam is a 4 year old Basenji mix. He is smart, obedient and a good companion. He is apprehensive with people he does not know and would be best placed in a home without children or other animals. He needs an owner who is experienced with animals and is willing to keep training him, and is currently working with a behaviorist to overcome his fears.

McCabe is a beautiful one year old big boy weighing in at 121lbs. He is a purebred St. Bernard. He is neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative. McCabe was abandoned by his prior family and is in desperate need of a forever family. He is very obedient, housebroken and full of love and affection. He is not aware of how big he is and therefore he tries to romp around like a puppy and in doing so looks like a big goof, but very adorable. He's not much into playing with toys - just hanging out with his family. He loves riding in the car and going for walks. He knows many commands such as sit, down, stay, shake and even speak! He does not like cats and has not been socialized with other dogs; therefore, he would do best as an only child. Please find it in your heart to give this big guy the loving family he so much needs. References and a fenced yard are required. Interested parties may email to: Jackie13208@peoplepc.com or HBDR

Scooter is a very healthy 8 year-old male, neutered Yorkie who was abandoned by his owner last summer. He is up to date on all shots. Because Scooter can display some aggression when he's in new surroundings, he had been deemed not adoptable and was nearly put down. I've been fostering Scooter for months now and sincerely believe he does not deserve to die. Yes, he can get snappy but he scares easily and his growl is his only defense. I would keep Scooter myself but I have a dog with special needs and Scooter needs to be the only pet in a child free house. Scooter's new owner needs to be firm with him and everything will work out fine as Scooter loves to be loved and craves affection. He also is house trained and sleeps soundly through the night. I encourage you to see Scooter in my loving household. Help us to help Scooter. Please contact me. I will gladly send you a picture or video. Boomer is a beautiful 2 year old 40 lb. neutered male mixed breed (½ white German Shepard and ½ white Siberian husky w/ brown eyes). Should be with another female dog or home with no pets and an adult home with an experienced dog owner in a stimulating environment (ie, can get exercise). Crate trained, will go in on command. Loveable, endearing, entertaining. This dog has a lot of personality! Highly trainable. Knows sit, stay, down, wait, hands up, roll over, shake, tunnel, jumps through hoop in a controlled indoor environment. Waits for release command to go outside and waits by door when he needs to go out. Waits for release command before eating. Lucy is the "Girl from Iponema" - she's "tall and tan (spotted) and young and lovely". Lucy was turned into the Columbia Greene Humane Society by her owners because they thought she was too large for their apartment. The combination of losing her home and moving into a shelter was too much for our girl so she is staying in a foster home now and doing wonderfully, but would like to have a home of her own. Lucy, a spayed female greyhound/pointer mix, is up to date on her vaccinations and is good with people, dogs and cats. She is housebroken and easy to live with. She does like to snuggle on the couch and she does curl up on the furniture as that was her bed in her first home - luckily she has a very short coat.

If you would like more information on Lucy, contact Chip or Michelle at 518-672-9142 or at tychios_lw@yahoo.com. If you are interested in adopting Lucy, contact the Columbia-Greene Humane Society at 828-6044 to apply for her. Lucy is a sweet, lovely, elegant girl who will be a loving companion to her owner.
